Merle's Journey as a Designer

Merle Hillary Weismer, is a native New Yorker and a New York Fashion Week Featured designer. Fueled by an artistic soul, Merle has spent decades mastering the art of creative expression. She began her career as a tapestry weaver, crafting commissioned works for commercial and residential spaces. Her fiber collages adorned spaces through collaborations with Armstrong World Industries, transforming interior rooms into captivating works of art for national display ads.

"Inspired by the flea markets of Paris & beyond I couple the past with the present."

From Interior Designer to Jewelry Designer

In 1986, Merle expanded her creative pursuits to include interior decoration, designing stunning residential spaces that reflected her clients’ unique personalities. Along the way, her artistic journey led her to participate in numerous juried exhibitions, including the prestigious Craft Forms international show on Philadelphia’s Main Line in 2017.

As her artistic vision evolved, Merle found herself drawn to the world of jewelry design, blending her passion for textiles and collage into one-of-a-kind, repurposed jewelry. Inspired by flea markets in London, Paris, New York, and the Pennsylvania countryside, Merle transforms vintage treasures into contemporary masterpieces. Her work, celebrated for its craftsmanship and storytelling, has been showcased at The Wayne Art Center and her alma mater, Moore College of Art and Design.
